Western Fuels Association’s Dry Fork Mine set a new record in 2015 for tons of coal shipped – 6,365,743 tons. This surpasses the previous record of 6,001,915 tons shipped in 2012. Annual data compiled since 2001 indicates that 2015 was the first year since 2006 where actual coal shipments have met or exceeded budget, with the other year being 2003. Total units (overburden, topsoil, and coal) for 2015 were the third highest at 15,582,106.
